2017 Canning Season

Hello Canners! It's been awhile! It's because there is really only one time of the year that we Can that you don't hear from us very often! But we are back and with some fun new recipes to try out.

It's that time of year, do you have your Canning/Preserving/Freezing list ready? I just made mine. I am still using jam from last year otherwise you would have heard from us sooner. My kids are all over the place for after school activities in the fall so I will be sharing some frozen meals on here too.

Up to try out this year:

Welcome

Welcome to the NEW site for The Kitchen Witch!! We had to go with The Northern Kitchen Witch as our original was taken, but we think it suits perfectly! We decided to go with a blog for our recipes, so here we are testing the waters! Hoping this works out better and easier than the website.

We have some new additions to the canning guide/recipe section. Mom's tomato sauce will finally be up! I know, I know the daughter has been neglectful to you all with the birth of her baby, but we are back! We are expanding a bit more too, not just about canning your own home goods. We also well be sharing with you some home remedies, dehydrating your own foods, some feature recipes from our kitchens and a much in need advice page for canning where you can comment with any questions you have and we will answer as much as we can! So just keep checking back, we are in the process of transferring everything over and hope to have it finished soon.

So here's to a new year and new adventures with The Northern Kitchen Witch!

UPDATES:
We now have an About Us page. Go there if you want to know more about this project. A new section has been added for feature recipes from our Cookbook. Our Cookbook is in the creating process right now as one of our computers crashed and took ALL our recipes with it. Blah! So we are trying to find our paper recipes. All in good time though. Each month we will add a few recipes to this section to give you a taste as to what is going on in our kitchens and going into the Book! We have all our canning guides/recipes up from the past two years now, but be prepared for even more added this year. More meats, broths, stews, sauces etc. So that is it for now. More later.

UPDATES:
We have added a drying section, a juice section and also a freezing section! Different ways to preserve your food for the coming winter months. Take some time to check them out. The preserving season has come!

UPDATES: I really need to start adding to the juice section. I keep forgetting to take photos. Added Homemade Pizza Dough to our Featured Recipe Section. Its a family tradition to make pizza on Samhain (Halloween).
